chandelier art

I’m trying something new.

I’ve hung this chandelier in my space. It is unfinished, with two more tiers still to add, but it is noticed right away, and it has become a conversation piece. I have received more compliments on it than I expected, and almost every guest asks about it.

The chandelier connects to my black and white drawings of nudes through its focus on structure, form, and light. Both are about presence more than polish. The chandelier changes the room in the same way the drawings shift a page. It holds attention not because it is complete, but because it exists and is being seen.

I am not sure if I will add the remaining tiers or begin making new chandeliers. There is a part of me that is interested in exploring a series and seeing how variations in scale or material would alter the balance. For now, this one hangs in its current state, suspended and steady, carrying weight, reflection, and conversation.
